Psalms, 142

1. [Psalm Of David When he was in the cave Prayer] To Yahweh I cry out with my plea. To Yahweh I cry out with entreaty.

2. I pour out my worry in his presence, in his presence I unfold my troubles.

3. However faint my spirit; you are watching over my path. On the road I have to travel they have hidden a trap for me.

4. Look on my right and see -- there is no one who recognises me. All refuge is denied me, no one cares whether I live or die.

5. I cry out to you, Yahweh, I affirm, 'You are my refuge, my share in the land of the living!'

6. Listen to my calling, for I am miserably weak. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me.

7. Lead me out of prison that I may praise your name. The upright gather round me because of your generosity to me.

Verses related to Psalms, 142:

Psalm 142 is a prayer of a man in distress who cries to God for help and deliverance. The psalmist feels alone and persecuted, but trusts that God is his refuge and portion in the Land of the Living. Here are five verses related to the topics covered in Psalm 142:

Psalm 55:6 - "I said in my astonishment, Oh! I had given me wings like dove! Would fly and find refuge." Like the psalmist of Psalm 142, the author of this Psalm calls for help in times of distress and wants to escape his persecutors.

Psalm 143:3-4 - "For the enemy has persecuted my soul; it has crushed my life on the ground; it has made me dwell in darkness, like those who died for a long time. Within me my heart is desolate. " These verses describe the anguish and loneliness that the psalmist of Psalm 142 feels in his affliction.

Psalm 27:9 - "Do not hide your face from me, do not reject your servant, you who have my help; you do not let me or forsake me, O God of my salvation!" This verse shows the confidence of the psalmist of Psalm 142 in God's help, even when he feels abandoned.

Psalm 31:2-3-"Include your ears to me, deliver me quickly; Be a rock of refuge, a powerful fortress to save me. For you are my rock and my fortress; for your love of yours Name, guide me and lead me. " These verses emphasize the psalmist's confidence in God as his fortress and rock of refuge.

Psalm 143:11-"For the sake of your name, Lord, keep my life; for your righteousness, take me out of anguish." This verse reflects the desire of the psalmist of Psalm 142 from being saved by God and living to glorify his name.
