Psalms, 126

1. Unless the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. Unless the Lord keep the city, he watcheth in vain that keepeth it.

2. It is vain for you to rise before light, rise ye after you have sitten, you that eat the bread of sorrow. When he shall give sleep to his beloved,

3. behold the inheritance of the Lord are children: the reward, the fruit of the womb.

4. As arrows in the hand of the mighty, so the children of them that have been shaken.

5. Blessed is the man that hath filled the desire with them; he shall not be confounded when he shall speak to his enemies in the gate.

Verses related to Psalms, 126:

Psalm 126 is a hymn of thanks to God for the restoration of the people of Israel after the Babylonian exile. The psalmist expresses the joy of those who were released and returned to their land. The following verses are related to the topics addressed in this Psalm:

Isaiah 51:11: "Thus the rescued of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with songs of joy; eternal joy will crown their heads. They will rejoice from joy and satisfaction, and the sadness and the moan will flee." This verse talks about the return of God's people to their land, which is directly related to the main theme of Psalm 126.

Jeremiah 31:7: "For thus the Lord says, 'Sing of joy for Jacob, exult because of the main peoples; proclaim, praise, and say,' Lord, save your people, the remnant of Israel! '" This verse It also refers to the restoration of the people of Israel and the joy it brings.

Psalm 85:1: "O Lord, you have shown your land, I brought back the captives of Jacob." This verse talks about the return of Jacob's captives, which is another theme present in Psalm 126.
